Power Outage Scheduled for Peelamedu and Kovilpalayam Substations Tomorrow

Electricity Board announces power cuts in various areas of Coimbatore on July 11, 2024, from 9 AM to 4 PM due to monthly maintenance work at Peelamedu and Kovilpalayam substations.


Coimbatore: The Tamil Nadu Electricity Board (TNEB) has announced a scheduled power outage for tomorrow, July 11, 2024, due to monthly maintenance work at the Peelamedu and Kovilpalayam substations. The power cut will be in effect from 9 AM to 4 PM, affecting numerous areas in Coimbatore.

Areas served by the Peelamedu substation that will experience the power outage include Bharathi Colony, Ilango Nagar, Purani Colony, Shobha Nagar, Ganapathy Industrial Estate, Police Quarters, Krishnarajapuram, Athipalayam Division, Ramakrishnapuram, Avarampalayam, Ganesh Nagar, V.G. Rao Nagar, Kamadhenu Nagar, PSG Estate, PSG Hospital, Nehru Street, Anna Nagar, Arumugam Layout, Indira Nagar, Nava India, Gopal Nagar, Peelamedu Pudur, Ellai Thottam, V.O.C. Colony, P.K.D. Nagar, Akhilandeswari Nagar, Puliakulam, Amman Kulam, Bharathipuram, Pankaja Mill, Thamu Nagar, Balasubramania Nagar, Balakuru Garden, Sauripalayam, Krishna Colony, Rajaji Nagar, Meena Estate, Udayampalayam, Rajiv Gandhi Nagar, Parsn Apartments, Sripathi Nagar, Kallimadai, Ramanathapuram, a portion of Trichy Road, Nanjundapuram Road, and Thiruvalluvar Nagar.

The Kovilpalayam substation maintenance will affect power supply in Sarkar Samakulam, Kovilpalayam, Kurumbapalayam, Manikkam Palayam (Co-India area), Vaiyampalayam, Agrahara Samakulam, Kottai Palayam, Kondayampalayam, Kunnathur, and Kalipalayam.

Residents and businesses in these areas are advised to plan accordingly for the scheduled power outage. The TNEB has emphasized that this temporary inconvenience is necessary to carry out essential maintenance work to ensure the long-term reliability of the power supply in the region.
