In Coimbatore, Hindu organizations staged a protest by kneeling at the Collector's office, demanding actions against individuals who used Annamalai's photo in goat slaughtering, recorded on video.
Coimbatore: Several Hindu organizations led by the Hindu Makkal Seva Iyakkam staged a unique form of protest at the Coimbatore office of District Collector Kranthi Kumar Pati, presenting a petition while kneeling down.

The protest was in response to a disturbing video that went viral, displaying a goat being slaughtered with a picture of Annamalai tied around its neck. The incident reportedly occurred on the 6th of this month on a national highway in Krishnagiri district.

The groups demanded thorough and immediate actions against those seen in the video, criticizing the perceived inaction by authorities. In a statement, Manikandan, the leader of the Hindu Makkal Seva Iyakkam, emphasized the contrast in responses to violent incidents. According to Manikandan, while violent acts among members associated with Periyar Dravidar Kazhagam and DMK receive praise and encouragement, Hindu-related issues are overlooked by the authorities. He accused certain groups of fostering violence, urging the Collector to take stern action against perpetrators inciting violence in this scenario.
