Two Arrested for Transporting Ganja Near Sengathurai

Two individuals were arrested near Sengathurai for transporting ganja, as part of Coimbatore's efforts to ensure a drug-free district.


Coimbatore: In an ongoing effort to create a drug-free environment in Coimbatore, two men were arrested near Sengathurai for allegedly transporting ganja. The arrests were made by Sulur Police following a tip-off about the illegal activity in the area.

During a routine check at the Naalroad junction in Sengathurai, Sulur Police apprehended Praveen, 21, from Tirupur and Akshay Kumar, 28, from Bihar. Both were found transporting ganja for sale.



The police confiscated 2 kilograms and 200 grams of ganja from their possession and subsequently, the accused were remanded to judicial custody. The operation aligns with the district police's commitment to curtail the distribution and sale of narcotics.
