In observance of World No Tobacco Day, Coimbatore District Collector Kranthi Kumar Pati initiated an anti-tobacco rally to promote awareness and self-discipline among the youth against drug habits.
Coimbatore: Coimbatore District Collector Kranthi Kumar Pati officiated the beginning of an anti-tobacco awareness rally in the premises of the district collectorate. The event, marking World No Tobacco Day, aimed to bolster public awareness about the hazards of tobacco consumption. Prior to starting the rally, participants took a pledge to strive towards a tobacco-free environment.

Over 150 nurses participated in the rally, administering pledges in the presence of the District Collector to raise awareness amongst the public. The emphasis was on encouraging the younger generation to uphold self-discipline and abstain from addictive substances.

The rally started from the Collector's office and concluded at the District Health Department in Race Course, reiterating the message for environmental protection by curbing tobacco use which leads to pollution.
