Gradual Decrease in Rainfall Expected in Tamil Nadu, Warm Weather Conditions May Prevail

Tamil Nadu is likely to see a gradual decline in rainfall from today, with warm weather conditions forecasted in the northern and eastern parts of the Kongu region. Despite Southwest Monsoon onset, reduced rainfall is expected over the next 10 days.

Coimbatore: According to recent updates, Tamil Nadu will witness a gradual decrease in rainfall starting today, April 25, 2024. The India Meteorological Department has announced the commencement of the Southwest Monsoon at the end of this month, yet significant rainfall is not anticipated in the coming 10 days.

This trend is attributed to the movement of the Madden-Julian Oscillation (MJO) from the Bay of Bengal towards the Pacific, resulting in less impactful rainfall over the Indian subcontinent.

Experts urge the public not the dismiss the monsoon season entirely, as it is expected to strengthen by the second or third week of June, promising substantial rainfall later. Coimbatore weatherman Santosh Krishnan recently provided updates about the ongoing rainfall and the upcoming monsoon weather patterns.
