Due to changes in wind direction, moderate to heavy rainfall is expected in parts of Tamil Nadu, including Coimbatore, on May 8 and 9, 2023.
Coimbatore: According to the recent updates from the Chennai Meteorological Centre, a shift in wind directions is set to bring moderate rains and possibly heavy showers in some places across Tamil Nadu today and tomorrow.
The weather pattern affects multiple districts with conditions conducive for moderate rains accompanied by thunderstorms and gusty winds speeding between 30 to 40 km/h. The regions potentially affected include Puducherry, Karaikal, and 14 districts in Tamil Nadu namely Coimbatore, Nilgiris, Tirupur, Theni, Dindigul, Virudhunagar, Tenkasi, Tirunelveli, Erode, Salem, Dharmapuri, Krishnagiri, Vellore, and Tirupattur.
These districts might experience heavy rainfall in isolated places. Similar weather conditions with mild to heavy rainfall are also anticipated for May 9, covering certain areas in Tamil Nadu along with parts of Puducherry and Karaikal.
