Coimbatore: In a disturbing incident, Shanthi, a 63-year-old woman from G.V.D. Layout in R.S. Puram, was robbed of her gold chain while travelling on a town bus from Thondamuthur to Gandhipuram. The theft occurred yesterday, May 3, and has shaken the local community.
Shanthi boarded the bus at Thondamuthur and headed towards Gandhipuram. As she disembarked near the Milk Company bus stop, she realized that her gold chain, weighing approximately three sovereigns, was missing from her neck.
Following the incident, Shanthi reported the theft at the Variety Hall Road police station. The police have registered a case and are currently investigating the robbery. The search for the perpetrator is ongoing, and the police are scrutinizing CCTV footage from the bus and the area surrounding the incident spot.
