Tragic Death of Village Administrative Officer Karuppasamy Leads to Controversy in Udumalpet

Village Administrative Officer Karuppasamy from Koolanaickenpatti near Pollachi died after consuming pills. A dying declaration points to alleged harassment by individuals, leading to demands for action.

Coimbatore: In a tragic turn of events, 38-year-old Karuppasamy, a master's in statistics and a Village Administrative Officer from Kanakkampalayam in Udumalpet Taluk, died after consuming pesticide pills on September 23. Living with his parents, Karuppasamy was found struggling for life by his mother, who rushed him to the Pollachi Government Hospital where he later died.

Reports state that despite immediate medical attention, Karuppasamy's life could not be saved. Before his death, he had penned a dying declaration implicating Maniyan, a teacher with Makkal Mitran, and Chitra, an assistant in the village administration, blaming them for his prolonged mental agony and humiliation.

The Tamil Nadu Village Administrative Officers Association has warned of state-wide protests unless swift action is taken within two days. The case has attracted significant attention, highlighting the pressures faced by village administrative officers.
