Coimbatore District Collector Urges Precautions Amid Heat Wave Alert

Coimbatore District Collector Kranthi Kumar Pati issued an advisory today, April 24th, following an IMD warning of possible heatwaves in certain areas of Coimbatore in the upcoming days.


Coimbatore: In light of rising temperatures across various districts in Tamil Nadu, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) recently predicted potential heat wave conditions in Coimbatore. Coimbatore District Collector, Kranthi Kumar Pati, has today issued a critical advisory urging the public to take necessary precautions.

The advisory specifically calls for residents to stay hydrated by drinking adequate amounts of water and to avoid unnecessary outdoor activities, especially between 12 PM and 3 PM, when the sun is at its peak. The Collector emphasized the importance of avoiding heat exposure during these hours to prevent heat-related health issues.

Kranthi Kumar Pati also advised that anyone experiencing symptoms of heat-related illnesses should seek medical attention immediately. This measure is crucial to combat the adverse effects of the heat wave and safeguard public health as temperatures continue to rise.
