Coimbatore: On the occasion of the 71st birth anniversary celebrations of DMDK leader Captain Vijayakanth, DMDK workers hoisted the party flag at Periyanaickenpalayam in Coimbatore and distributed food to the public.
The 71st birth anniversary of Captain Vijayakanth, the leader of the Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam( DMDK), is being celebrated with much fanfare by his fans and party workers.
On behalf of The Coimbatore Periyanayakanpalayam East Union, on the occasion of Vijayakanth's birthday, the party flag was hoisted at more than 10 places and annadhanam was distributed to the public.
Union secretary Sakaiah presided over the function held at Senkalipalayam. Coimbatore North district secretary K S Shanmugavadivel was the chief guest and hoisted the party flag and distributed sweets.
Ward councillor Jayapriya Sakkaiah presided over the function. On this occasion, annadhanam was distributed to the public at Gandhi Colony branch of Periyanaickenpalayam East Union.
Following this, NGGO Colony 4Th Road, Rangammal Colony, Vattamalaipalayam Balaji Nagar, Ganapathi Colony and other areas were also given annadhanam.
On the occasion of Vijayakanth's birthday, posters and wall paintings were erected at various places in the city on behalf of The Periyanaickenpalayam East Union.
