61 stations in Tamilnadu set to be enhanced under Amrit Bharat Station Scheme

The Amrit Bharat Station scheme is all set to transform the travel experience of Indians across states. It will impact 90 stations in South India - 61 in Tamil Nadu: 26 in Kerala: 1 each in Andhra, Karnataka and Puducherry UT


Coimbatore: The Amrit Bharat Station scheme is all set to transform the travel experience of Indians across states.

It will impact 90 stations in South India - 61 in Tamil Nadu: 26 in Kerala: 1 each in Andhra, Karnataka and Puducherry UT

Total Sanctioned cost for Phase I -Rs. 934 Cr:

Break Up:

Chennai Division (44 works, ₹251.97 Cr)

Salem Division (22 works, ₹150.47 Cr)

Palakkad Division (26 works, ₹195.54 Cr)

Thiruvananthapuram Division (15 works, ₹108.00 Cr),

Tiruchchirappalli Division (22 works, ₹123.47 Cr)

Madurai Division (19 works, ₹104.56 Cr).

Work contract has been awarded for 35 Stations under the scheme and tender under finalisation for remaining stations.

The Key Features of these works will, foot Over Bridges, Escalators & Lifts, Improved Circulating Areas, Two/Four Wheeler Parking, Landscaping/Horticulture, Integrated Passenger Information System, Signages, Platform & Shelter Upgrades, SS Benches, Taps & Wash Basins, Enhanced Illumination/Power Supply, CCTV Surveillance.

The stations under the Amrit Bharat scheme will be fast-tracked through streamlined processes and regular reviews.
