Tirupur: Relatives of a minor girl, who died after being hit by a police vehicle in Tirupur alleged the police threatened them to take the body.

On Wednesday, Divyadarshini, a minor girl, died on the spot after being hit by a police vehicle on Kangayam road in Tirupur. In connection with the event, home guard Veerachinnan has been charged under Section 304A.

A case has been filed under the areas of careless driving, causing an accident, and causing death. Veerachinnan, who was hit in the public attack, is being treated at the Tirupur Government Hospital.

Police said an investigation into the incident is underway and further action will be taken based on the investigation.

In this case, the CCTV footage from the accident has been released. Divyadarshini and her mother Rajeshwari were travelling on a two-wheeler when Divyadarshini's school bag fell down and Rajeshwari stumbled and fell down with the two-wheeler.

In the CCTV footage of the accident, the speeding police vehicle unexpectedly hit them. Divyadarsani's body has been kept at the Tirupur Government Medical College Hospital for post-mortem.

At this point, the police have been pressuring them to complete the post-mortem and get the body. But the child's mother, Rajeshwari, was seriously injured and sent to the private hospital in Coimbatore, and how can they get the body while the father is in Kuwait?

So the police have been constantly threatening them with taking the body, claiming that they would not receive the body until the father comes. So far, the police have not clarified the allegation that constable Veera Chinnan was under the influence of alcohol.

They are refusing to get the body and are asking that the government provide relief to the family members of the victims. According to the police, the Embassy has taken all necessary preparations for the father's return to India from overseas, and he will depart Kuwait for India Thursday night.
