Doctor kills herself after failing to clear MD exam in Coimbatore

Twenty-six-year-old woman doctor in Coimbatore allegedly committed suicide 'dejected' over failure to clear her MD examination, police said on Monday.

Krithika, working as a trainee doctor in a private hospital in the city, hanged herself from a ceiling fan at her house in Peelamedu in the wee hours of Sunday, they said.

Though her parents broke open her bedroom door and rushed her to a hospital, she died on Sunday evening without responding to treatment.

Police said Krithika had appeared for her MD examinations recently, but failed to score pass marks, leading to depression, they said.
