Tamil Nadu election: Modi, Amit Shah to campaign for BJP in Coimbatore


COIMBATORE: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP national president Amit Shah and Union ministers like M Venkaiah Naidu will visit Coimbatore to campaign for the party ahead of the May 16 assembly election in Tamil Nadu.

Naidu would campaign for BJP in Coimbatore on April 3, party state vice-president Vanathi Srinivasan told TOI. "We are yet to finalise the dates of the visits of the Prime Minister and the party national president," said Vanathi.

"BJP has been strong in Coimbatore. We feel the visits of the Prime Minister and the national president will strengthen our chances of winning in Coimbatore," she said.

Party candidate in Singanallur C R Nandhakumar said, "Previous visits of the Prime Minister and the party national president were overwhelming."
