Eight booked on charges of assault

Karumathampatty Police have registered a case against eight persons who had allegedly assaulted a former labourer of a mill.

The victim N. Pandi (35) despite quitting stayed in the mill’s quarters as he had to get his balance wages from the mill owner Thangavel.

On March 20, a gang of seven persons reportedly assaulted Pandi and also damaged household articles and took away some money from him. The attack allegedly was instigated by the mill owner. The labourer was admitted in the Coimbatore Medical College Hospital.

Further investigations are on.
