'Master Health Checkup' for policemen working in rural and city police initiated, in tie-up with CMCH

According to Police officials, the Master Health Checkup has been classified into two phases namely, one for Rural Police and one for City police.

Coimbatore: The City Police in collaboration with the Coimbatore Government Medical College and Hospital have initiated a Master Health Checkup for the policemen and Police officers working in both rural and city police stations.

According to officials, the Health checkup has been classified into two phases namely, one for Rural Police and one for City police.

In the first phase which already commenced, about 40 policemen have undergone health checkups.

"The health check-up has been going on for the past three days" said a police officer.

Also, the Air Force department members arrive every Thursday to take up the master checkup.

According to a Police officer, "We aim to cover a minimum of 10 policemen and officials every day in addition to the members of the public. These numbers can exceed based on the requirements or inevitable situations. There isn't a specified timeframe until the entire numbers undergo this medical examination."

The most common illnesses witnessed among police officials are high blood pressure, cholesterol, stress and diabetes.

“Post-examination, and based on the results obtained, each individual will be prescribed medication and other recommendations to maintain good health,” officials said.

"Cholesterol and stress seem to have been prevalent in most policemen. Based on their test report, the policemen will be provided with rest or advised to do yoga or take up regular exercises like walking." the doctors said.
