‘Isai Mazhai’, a 24-hours Music Marathon held as a part of 'Coimbatore Vizha'

Coimbatore Vizha, the annual carnival in Coimbatore, was celebrated from January 4 to 8 and various events were conducted as part of its 15th edition.


Coimbatore: As part of Coimbatore Vizha, “Isai Mazhai”, a 24-hours Music Marathon, the first of its kind was organized by ‘Studio Music & More’ at their premises in DB Road in RS Puram.



This Music Marathon was a unique effort to bring together all amateur singers and celebrate Music in the city which played an important role in Tamil Film Industry in the early years of Indian Cinema.



In the gala music event, portraying the harmony of Coimbatore, about 130 singers, aged between 8 years to 82 years, from all over Tamil Nadu, participated and sung more than 255 songs spread over 24 hours.



The event had various members including Specially-abled Children (Autistic), Rotary Club members, NSS Ganapathy team, College students, Advocates, Police personnel, Doctors, Engineers, Businessmen, Cinema professionals, Architects, Chartered Accountants, Banking professionals, and they sang in multiple languages over the time.



The Music Studio, which is well known in Coimbatore, has been conducting all music related events over the last 3 years and everyone can witness singers from all age groups singing their heart out across all languages in the Studio.



This is being run by three music loving passionate team members - Mahesh Rajan, Anand Chandrasekaran and Rajanigath Dhayanandan, ably supported by their spouses.
