Eight sovereigns of gold chain snatched from elderly woman near Saravanampatti

Police are on the lookout for a man who snatched eight sovereigns of gold chain from an elderly woman who was walking on the road near Saravanampatti.



Coimbatore: Palaniammal (74), the wife of Aarusamy, hails from Saravanampatti in Coimbatore.

When she was returning home after visiting a flour mill, near her house an unidentified miscreant snatched away an 8-sovereign gold chain from her.

The miscreant who followed her committed the crime near Saravanampatti Pillaiyar Koil Road and fled from the scene.

When Palaniammal raised an alarm, the onlookers gave chase to the culprit, but in vain.

Saravanampatti police have registered a case and are on the lookout for the chain snatcher.
