Unaccounted cash seized in Pollachi

Officials in-charge of monitoring cash flow during elections, on Thursday, seized Rs. 2.15 lakh from a lorry that was moving from Palakkad to Pollachi. According to sources, the officials led by Block Development Officer Sampathkumar intercepted a lorry on the Palakkad-Pollachi Road at the Mannur check post and during search seized the cash from the lorry driver Sakthivel.

The driver had told them that the cash was the money he got for delivering a lorry load of banana plants to a trader in Calicut. But since he did not have documents for support his claim, the officials seized the cash.
