On the 15th of April, a 75-year-old lady from Rathinapuri tested positive for Covid-19 and was being treated at the Coimbatore Government Medical College and Hospital. Sadly, after two weeks of treatment, she succumbed to the infection and her body was handed over to her family members for cremation at the Nanjundapuram power crematorium.

Corona virus contamination has been under control in Tamil Nadu and throughout the country for more than a year. Unfortunately, since December, the number of cases has significantly increased in various states, including Tamil Nadu.
Accordingly, the daily number of Covid cases in the Coimbatore district is increasing day by day, with about 64 new cases reported as of 19.04.2023.
In this regard, the country has not reported any coronavirus deaths in the recent year. However, Coimbatore has been recorded with three covid deaths in the last 30 days, though the officials claim it to be caused by comorbidity.
