In this regard, Corporation City Health Officer Dr.Damodharan told Simplicity, "An average of 6 cases are reported on a daily routine in the last few weeks, which is comparatively less in the last 9 months. "The state Health Department advised that all sick contacts have their throats swabbed. However, in Coimbatore, we have decided to go one step further by doing swab testing on all immediate contacts and adjacent commercial zones with potential spread."
He stated that there are no targeted numbers with the random samples because it fluctuates with each infected person's specific contacts. Since January, the corporation health limits have reported 356 covid instances, with the higher one reported from the Central Zone.
Because of the central zone's location at the intersection of a hike, the majority of commercial sites are located here, including Ukkadam, Kottaimedu, town hall, gandhipuram, Sivananda colony, and Selvapuram. With more people using public transportation, the spread of sickness is greater.
