Coimbatore: A passenger who arrived at Coimbatore International Airport from Singapore has tested positive for Covid-19.
Observing an increase in the number of covid infections across the country, the central government has advised foreign travellers to be closely monitored.
Following this, monitoring teams have been set up at the Coimbatore International Airport on behalf of the District Health Department and tests are being carried out.

In this situation, out of the 2 per cent tests of the passengers who arrived in Coimbatore by flight from Singapore yesterday were randomly tested for coronavirus. A 41-year-old man from Coimbatore, Ganapathi, who came to Coimbatore from Singapore, was confirmed to be infected with the coronavirus today. Following the confirmation, he was isolated at home and is being constantly monitored by the district health department officials.
His samples have been collected and sent to Chennai to identify and confirm the variant of covid-19 he was infected with.
