Coimbatore: A Kalaignarin Varumun Kapom Special Medical Camp was held at the Corporation Higher Secondary School premises in Coimbatore Corporation's Central Zone.

Coimbatore Corporation Mayor Kalpana Anandakumar and Corporation Commissioner Prathap inaugurated the camp by lighting the lamp and reviewed the treatment methods being provided to the patients at the camp.

Speaking at the camp, the Municipal Corporation Commissioner said, “The Tamil Nadu government's 'Varumun Kapom' scheme is to get a medical check-up done once a year before the onset of the disease, rather than getting treatment after the onset of the disease.

The Government of Tamil Nadu has implemented this scheme to reduce the cost of the hospital and the time and to lead a healthy life. This is one of the most important projects of chief minister Stalin.

The aim is to create a healthy Tamil Nadu. The nature of the disease should be diagnosed at an early stage and treatment should be taken. Those who require further treatment will be referred and steps will be taken to provide further treatment.

The public should participate in this camp and benefit and create a healthy Tamil Nadu. Municipal Corporation Commissioner Prathap said.”

Following this, Mayor Kalpana Anandakumar said, “Among the important projects of Chief Minister M.K.Stalin, kalaignar's Varumun Kapom project is noteworthy.

Medical check-up camps are being conducted in central and western zone areas of Coimbatore Corporation today. The public should participate in this camp, conduct medical check-ups and benefit and create a healthy Tamil Nadu.
