The college was hence closed following the coronavirus infection in a total of 16 students studying in the college. College campus classrooms were sprayed with disinfectant.
Corporation officials said, "The coronavirus test is performed on a daily basis for 700 students in Coimbatore. Students over the age of 18 should be vaccinated against coronavirus. For this, camps are being conducted. There are also 24-hour coronavirus vaccination centers. College students must adhere to the social distance and visit educational institutions. They were asked to wear face masks and wash their hands periodically with disinfectant even after being vaccinated."
When enquired with students, they cite lack of social distancing in class rooms as one of the major reasons for the spread in the college. The administration of colleges should ensure that all students are vaccinated before entering the campuses to avoid the panic.
