After one tribal was confrmed with Coronavirus infection after a visit to Kerala, 10 out of the 42 tribals who closely associated with him have also tested positive.
Coimbatore: 10 tribals have been reported to have contracted Covid-19 in a village after one of them reportedly seems to have contracted Covid-19 after a visit to Kerala.
The Covid-19 pandemic is reportedly spreading wide in the state of Kerala. As a result, the Health Department has been intensely conducting surveillance at 13 check posts along the Kerala border in Coimbatore district.
A person from the Vellapathy tribal village near Alandurai Sadivayal in Coimbatore district had gone to Attappadi in Kerala a few days ago. Thereafter, he reportedly had a fever and his health deteriorated. On medical examination, it was confirmed that he had contracted Coronavirus. He was rushed to the Coimbatore Government Hospital for treatment and he is under intensive treatment there.
This was followed by a Coronavirus test being conducted for 42 people who had been in close contact with him in the village. 10 of them were confirmed to be infected and have been admitted to a hospital for treatment.
