Coimbatore: In a move to control the spread and to provide vaccines to all, vaccination drive for postnatal mothers admitted in Coimbatore Medical College Hospital has begun, said hospital sources.

The drive comes after long days when the NITI Ayog health members stressed on the importance of vaccination for lactating mothers. It had also allowed pregnant women to vaccinate to prevent them from infection.

In line with this, doctors at CMCH say they have begun the drive for postnatal mothers.
Speaking on it, sources from CMCH say that the deliveries have been reduced in the second wave of corona virus at CMCH to 400 in June.
Of the 568 Covid positive mothers admitted in CMCH, only 290 mothers had given birth, sources add.
However, those mothers admitted in emergency ward due to Covid required oxygen and CAAP support.
According to the source, as many 42 mothers required oxygen support while 36 needed CAAP support during their treatment process.
