Coimbatore: "A global bid for the vaccine has been requested. 3,50,00,000 people will be vaccinated against Covid-19 once the contract point is opened," stated Minister Sakkarapani in an interview with media personnel in Pollachi.

Ministers Sakkarapani and Ramachandran held a consultative meeting at the Pollachi Municipal Office with Municipal, Panchayat and Medical Officials regarding Coronavirus preventive measures.

Addressing the media thereafter, Minister Sakkarapani said, "Coimbatore is the second-worst affected state after Chennai. In terms of vaccines, Coimbatore has received the highest number of vaccines after Chennai. Even the Chief Minister has called for a global agreement to vaccinate. The deal is set to open on June 5. About 3,50,00,000 people are to be vaccinated. Here, medical officials are saying that more people are reluctant to get vaccinated.

We advise you to take action to create awareness among the people and advise them to get vaccinated. To control the disease, teams are visiting the village panchayat, municipality ward and municipal wards in each area, so that the district administration can take appropriate steps to find out the extent to which Covid-19 has affected each household," he added.
