1,500 staff appointed for blood oxygen assessment work in door-to-door inspection in Coimbatore


Coimbatore: Door to door checking of oxygen saturation in people has started in Coimbatore. 1,500 people will be involved in the work. Covid-19 in Coimbatore district is increasing day by day and 60 per cent of the victims live in the Coimbatore city.

Following this, drastic measures are being taken to control the Covid-19 in the Corporation area. As part of this, the task of diagnosing the level of oxygen in the general public has been started along with the task of diagnosing the common cold.

The corporation official said, "The second wave is causing suffocation in many people. Deficiency of oxygen in the body requires treatment with an oxygen bed in hospital. With this in mind, 1,500 people have been assigned to go door-to-door in parts of the corporation to calculate oxygen saturation levels in people.

One oximeter is provided for two staff. These staff will measure the oxygen level by fitting an oximeter on the finger and if the oxygen level is below 95 they will be immediately sent to the nearest coronavirus treatment center."
