84 confirmed Covid-19 cases in Pollachi today; 68-year old grandmother dies

Coimbatore: Covid-19 cases continue to spike in Pollachi as in the past few weeks, with 84 more people confirmed to have contracted the virus in Pollachi today. A 68-year old grandmother was the recent victim according to health officials.


Coimbatore: Covid-19 cases continue to spike in Pollachi as in the past few weeks, with 84 more people confirmed to have contracted the virus in Pollachi today. A 68-year old grandmother was the recent victim according to health officials.

In spite of preventive measures such as a complete curfew being imposed to curb the spread of Covid -19, 26 people in Pollachi municipality, 30 in the Northern Union and 28 in the Southern Union have been diagnosed as having contracted Covid-19 in the past 84 days according to health officials. The 68-year old casualty hailed from Ganapathy Road, Pollachi.

The Health Department is identifying and isolating infected areas in Pollachi and initiating serious preventive measures. The health officials have also advised the public not to venture outside during the curfew and to be vigilant.
