Coimbatore: According to the district administration, 6 people have contracted black fungus in Coimbatore and are being treated at private hospitals.

Black fungus is a disease that affects people who have been infected with coronavirus and have been treated with oxygen. The fungus can infect the lungs, nails, skin, stomach, kidneys, brain, mouth and genitals. But when they are tested, they will be negative for coronavirus.

They need special treatment and according to the District Collector, 6 people have been infected with black fungus in Coimbatore and are being treated at different private hospitals and they are all well. He said no one needs to be afraid to worry about this disease and adequate facilities are being made for it.
