Coimbatore: TamilNadu Minister of Health and Family Welfare Ma. Subramaniam is visiting various districts conducting inspections about the Covid-19 situation in various districts.

In that context, Minister Ma. Subramaniam visited Coimbatore and inspected the Covid-19 situation and health service offered at the ESI hospital.
He then inaugurated the newly constructed Covid-19 wards set-up additionally to treat the Covid-19 patients. On addressing the reporters, he said, " There are a total of 830 beds at the ESI Hospital and a total of 17,000 people have been admitted here and have recovered successfully from Covid-19.
We have been continuously urging to efficiently use the oxygen and ESI hospital has been the pioneer in managing oxygen. They have also been practicing methods to increase the oxygen intake level naturally for Covid-19 patients. I have requested the hospital Dean to explain this method to the other private hospital doctors.

On behalf of the Hospital, more oxygen supply and bed facility has been requested and they have sent a quote to the government. Also the death rate in ESI Hospital Coimbatore is very low." He said.

During his inspection, Minister Ma Subramaniam noticed the public waiting for their vaccination getting drenched in the rains. Upon seeing it, he ordered the Coimbatore Corporation Commissioner Kumaravel Pandian to immediately arrange for a place for them to stand without getting drenched.
