ESI Hospital Dean Raveendran in tears falls at feet of nurses working in COVID-19 ward to honour them on International Nurse's Day
Coimbatore: Coimbatore ESI Government Hospital Dean Raveendran teared up andfell in the feet of nurses working in Covid-19 department in honour of International Nurses' Day. May 12, the birthday of Florence Nightingale from the United Kingdom, who created the modern nursing system, is observed every year as International Nurses' Day.
This year’s Nurses Day is being observed across the country amid the coronavirus pandemic. Various leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister MK Stalin, have extended their congratulations to nurses who have been field workers in the fight against the coronavirus infection.
International Nurses' Day was observed at ESI Government Hospital, the main hospital in Coimbatore for the treatment of coronavirus infections.
Doctors and nurses, including hospital Dean Raveendran paid homage to the portrait of Florence Nightingale, then founder of Modern Nursing, with flowers and lit candles.
Following this, the Dean Raveendran spoke to the nurses and praised all the nurses who accepted the orders and advice of the doctors and treated patients affected by the Covid-19. Continuing emotionally the hospital Dean fell at the feet of the nurses working in the coronavirus treatment unit and cried saying that they were equal to God. The incident moved all the doctors and nurses emotionally.
