GEM Hospital Doctor conferred 'Best Researcher Award'

Coimbatore: Dr.P.Praveen Raj -Head of the Department of Bariatric Surgery has been conferred the “Best Researcher award” for his research contributions in the field of Bariatric Surgery by the Indian Association of Gastrointestinal Endosurgeons (IAGES), during their annual conference recently.

In a press release issued by GEM Hospital, "He is among only four surgeons in the country, and only one from South India to be conferred this prestigious honour.

The award comes with a plaque and 1 lakh INR price money. He shall be contributing this fund for further research for the Post graduate students of Gem hospital. It is important to note that he is the President-elect of the Obesity Surgery Society of India and President of international Excellence Federation in Bariatric Surgery (India Chapter). "
