First of all people should not be afraid of Covid-19.The reason is that most of the victims of this infection can be cured with treatment. So let go of the fear first.
Coimbatore: Dr Adityan Guhan, who has launched Coimbatore's first digital clinic service, said that in an environment where the spread of Covid-19 infection is increasing day by day, people need not panic about it as the victims can be treated at their homes.
In an interview with SimpliCity, he said, "My name is Adityan Guhan. I have completed MBBS, M.D (Internal medicine) and am running Dr AG's Clinic in Coimbatore.
I launched the 'First Digital Clinic' project in Coimbatore in March 2020 with the idea of providing medical care to the people digitally when the first wave of 'covid-19' outbreaks had an impact.
I have treated more than 150 patients during the first wave of Covid-19 and I am currently treating 56 patients during the second wave of infections. Of those, 30 have recovered. The remaining 26 are being treated.
First of all people should not be afraid of Covid-19.The reason is that most of the victims of this infection can be cured with treatment. So let go of the fear first.
We need to stop causing panic, especially by relying on false information spread on social media and sharing it with others. It is not a deadly disease to the extent that people are afraid of it. People can recover from it by taking necessary actions and steps as advised by the doctors.
The medical structure in Coimbatore district is adequate both in government and private hospitals. But in the current situation, even those who do not need oxygen and ventilator treatment have to go to the hospital and are being admitted which actually causes a shortage of beds for patients who need intensive treatment. This is not correct.
In the UK, a system called 'TRIAC' has been implemented to solve such a problem, through which patient's who will need immediate treatment will be allotted bed facilities.
The digital clinic project I have started to address the problem of lack of space in hospitals will be very beneficial.
This treatment can be used by those who have symptoms of infection or already at home under quarantine. They will be treated for infections at home at a reasonable fee.
Patients who just have a room with toilet facilities at home are enough to undergo this treatment. Our medical team will visit the victims home and take all sorts of tests. By this service people can get treatment with a doctor by video call 24 hours a day even if they have any doubts or fears. Anyone can contact us immediately for an explanation. We also provide patients with food if required.
Patients, family members can also continue their day to day activities by undertaking the advice by doctors. Not only medical examinations but also medicines are given at home as per the doctor's advice. Nurses will be made available if required and they will work by wearing PPE kits. We will admit the patients to hospitals only if they need treatment which can be given at a hospital. If they do not want to go to the hospital, they will be treated by setting up an 'ICU' (Intensive Care Unit) at home.
During our services so far such treatments were required only by people less than 1%. So people need not be tensed by the symptoms. They can immediately contact us once they have doubts about having treatment. We will take all the effort to eradicate the infection as early as possible.
'Covid-19'is just like any other flu, treatment should be given once the identification of symptoms. Continuous treatment along with medicines and samples will be sufficient to cure this disease.
Around 1% of the public are sent to intensive care because of this disease. Since our population is quite high, the numbers seem a little larger which is creating an impact. This causes fears, so people don't have to be in fear by seeing fake news via social media.

People can protect themselves by taking vaccination and other necessary guidelines as advised by the government. For further details, I can be reached at 9943655556."
