Do not let your guard down on coronavirus as yet: District Collector K. Rajamani
Coimbatore: District Collector K. Rajamani has warned the public to not let down their guard against COVID-19. Awareness among the people about the coronavirus is gradually declining.
District Collector Rajamani said in a statement that the people of Coimbatore should not be negligent and should take steps to protect themselves. He said. "There are no reports of a new genetically modified coronavirus infection in Coimbatore. Out of 143 people who came from abroad one of them tested positive for coronavirus."
He said that the reports have confirmed that he did not have the new COVID strain and has also recovered and returned home. Daily about 50 cases per day are reported in Coimbatore. He said it has been advised to monitor the affected areas in the Corporation area and there was no large-scale impact in the panchayat areas.
He warned that even though the pandemic is currently declining, people need to be vigilant, wear masks and follow the social distancing and people must also continue to safeguard their children.
