COVID-19 confirmed for a student in Salem: Tests underway for students in Coimbatore
Coimbatore: COVID-19 was confirmed for a student in Salem and awareness and tests are underway for students in Coimbatore on behalf of the health department. Coronavirus testing is being carried out actively for 10th and 12th class students in Coimbatore.
Schools for 10th and 12th class students were reopened in Coimbatore on the 19th as the infections rates were decreasing. Students are advised to be safe to avoid infection. Health officials on behalf of the Coimbatore District School Education are inspecting schools in Coimbatore district after a 10th class student from Salem was confirmed to be infected.
Corporation Hospital doctors are visiting each school and advising students on how to take precautions to prevent the spread of infection. Kabasura kudineer and vitamin pills are also provided.
Health department official said, "Students coming to school must wear a mask and it is advised to be admitted to a government hospital immediately if you have any symptoms including fever, cough and runny nose. Special camps are being set up in schools from 2pm to 4pm and tests are being carried out with primary health center staff. So far no one has been found to be infected."
