More than 32,000 volunteers register online for Covid-19 vaccination in Coimbatore during the last month.
Coimbatore: More than 32,000 volunteers have registered online for Covid-19 vaccination in Coimbatore when counted recently. Now another 3,000 workers from the health department have been added to the list.
Health department officials said that: Cold storage facilities are now made available for storing the Covid-19 vaccines. Cold storage containers are brought from Chennai to store the vaccines in Coimbatore. Covid-19 vaccines will be stored in Coimbatore and will then be distributed to the districts of Erode, Tirupur and The Nilgiris.
Healthcare officials also said that the details of the health care workers who have enrolled for vaccination are published online for more than a month. With the last week the number of people enrolled reached 32,000. Now another 3,000 workers details have been added to the list published online.
On the arrival of Covid-19 vaccines, health department workers will be vaccinated first who will be followed by frontline workers, sanitation department workers, revenue department officials, police officials and Anganwadi workers.
Officials also said that people who fall under the age group of 60 are also to be vaccinated with the first batch of Covid-19 vaccine.
