Coimbatore‘s 32,000 frontline workers and government officials to receive first phase of coronavirus vaccine in January

Coimbatore: Details of 32,000 people have been registered online for receiving coronavirus vaccine in Coimbatore. Vaccines for coronavirus infection are being given to the general public in many countries, including the United Kingdom and the United States.


Coimbatore: Details of 32,000 people have been registered online for receiving coronavirus vaccine in Coimbatore. Vaccines for coronavirus infection are being given to the general public in many countries, including the United Kingdom and the United States. The central government has said that the vaccine will be available in India soon and in the first phase it is planned to vaccinate health workers. Hence the names and details of medical college students working in government and private hospitals, health department officials and inspectors working in private hospitals were being collected for the last one month.

In the first phase in Coimbatore, the details of 32,000 people have been uploaded online, according to the health department. Coimbatore District Deputy Director of Health Ramesh Kumar said that “the details of 32,000 people in Coimbatore district have been uploaded online for vaccination in the first phase.”

He said that the details of the health department employees are being collected and the vaccine is expected to be given after the second week of January.
