Kerala: Five of a family in Kerala from Pathnamthitta district tested positive for coronavirus, the total number of infected people in the country to 39.

According to reports from the State Health Ministry, three of the family had recently visited Italy. While three of them had returned from Italy on February 29, two others were their relatives. And, the family did not share their travel history at the airport and hence were not screened , said the Health Minister.

"They also refused to be hospitalised initially and we had to persuade them," the Minister said, as reported by NDTV.

All five have been isolated in Pathnamathitta general hospital and are under observation. It may be noted that India's first three positive cases had been reported from the state.
