Regular meditation could keep your brain young

One of the interesting elements about meditation practitioners is that no matter how old they get, they have better mental function and can more easily learn new skills and recall information when compared with non-meditators.

A new study says doing meditation daily could actually add years to your life. (As if you needed another reason: It’s already known as a beauty treatment, a stress reliever, and a painkiller).

When you meditate you bring energy and fuller breaths into your body. It pumps more oxygen into the places that are tight and weak, it also brings a glow to your skin. Breathing mindfully transforms the tissues and cells in your body. It brightens your complexion and makes you look and feel younger.

Over a period of 20 years, researchers observed 50 men and women who practiced meditation regularly, and 50 who didn’t analyzing their brain scans to determine the age of each brain based on its physical condition. And while the non-meditators’ ages matched the ages of their brains, those who meditated appeared to have brains seven and a half years younger than their actual ages.

The meditation is beneficial for brain preservation, with a slower rate of brain aging throughout life, Aging is naturally accompanied by a loss of brain substance, but a regular meditation practice with its powerhouse combination of intense concentration and relaxation could prompt the growth of new brain cells, effectively slowing the rate of brain aging. If you want to help remove stress from your life, meditation can provide you with a way. Helping you to shut out the world and relax for a time lets you put things into perspective. You’ll find that meditation not only reduces stress, but gives you a more optimistic outlook generally. Meditation keeps your mood even and calm. It instantly improves your mood and helps to build self-confidence. It’s easy to learn and has no detrimental side effects.
