The sweet and starchy vegetable sweet potato is highly beneficial for health. Being high in nutritional value it is consumed widely. Sweet potato is very low in Sodium content and also it has low saturated fat and cholesterol making it nutrition prominent in its potato family.

Being a great source of Vitamin C and rich in Beta-Carotene, sweet potatoes strengthen the immune system preventing cough and cold.

Prevents Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD): Sweet potatoes are a great source of Vitamin D. Our body requires sunlight for Vitamin D hence, sweet potato has this nutrient inbuilt. There are some regions where Seasonal Affective Disorder prevails hence, being rich in Vitamin D, it keeps the disease away. Also, people who are a deficit of this nutrient can take the same through sweet potato.

Builds Stronger Immunity: Iron is the key nutrient which is present in the sweet potato. It helps our body in proper functioning by the production of red and white blood cells. Hence, sweet potatoes are great in building the body immunity stronger.

Anti-Stress Material: The high amount of Magnesium present in Beta Carotene and other Carotenoids help in fighting against cancer. They are powerful antioxidants which keep the body immunity stronger to fight against diseases. They are also a great source of Vitamin A which is very much useful for our body.

Also, sweet potatoes are dietary fibres and are rich in Vitamin B6, Niacin, Vitamin B1, Vitamin B2, Phosphorus, Copper and Pantothenic Acid. Consuming them means we are covering our body with a protective layer of nutrients.
