Best superfoods for healthy eyes and better vision

Weak eyesight or blurred view is a common in most of the people. There are many reasons behind the weak eyesight of a person.

Weak eyesight or blurred view is a common in most of the people. There are many reasons behind the weak eyesight of a person. Sometimes the deficiency of necessary vitamins and minerals lead to unclear vision. It might also be because of the age factor. But no matter what the cause is behind the weak eye sight, one has to work hard on maintaining the good vision. Instead of relying on medicines and artificial means, one should try to intake natural super foods which do not have side effects.

Here is the list of some super foods extremely beneficial to keep eyes healthy:

Spinach: Spinach is one of the superfoods that helps to maintain the good vision of the eyes. Besides spinach, other green leafy vegetables are equally important for eye vision. It contains vitamin A and iron which is important for keeping the cornea of the eye healthy. It also contains lutein that is beneficial to protect the eyes from ultraviolet radiations.

Carrot: Carrot is rich in vitamin A which helps to prevent the eyes from night blindness. Not just this, it helps to keep the cornea and the cells of the eyes healthy and strong. There is an oval shaped yellow centre of the retina which requires lutein to maintain its pigment. Thus, carrots are extremely healthy to eat.

Pepper: Our Indian kitchens are full of different peppers. Green, black, yellow, red, brown etc. are the varieties of pepper available which are extremely good for the eyes. Rich in vitamin A and vitamin C it helps to fight eye diseases like a cataract and thus keeps the eye healthy.

Blueberries: Blueberries improve the vision of eyes and ensure proper flow of blood in the blood vessels. Being anti-inflammatory and antioxidant in nature, it helps to keep the eye healthy and strong. They even help to supply adequate oxygen to the retina of the eye.

Broccoli: Inflammation in eyes and blurred vision are two of the most common problems of many people.Broccoli has vitamin B2 in it, which prevents inflammation and improves the eyesight. It is antioxidant in nature and contains phytochemicals like lutein and zeaxanthin which improves the overall health of the eyes.




Walnuts: We all are well aware of the benefits of walnuts. Walnuts are rich in omega-3 fatty acids, vitamin E, zinc and other essential nutrients. It is good to keep the eyes healthy and prevents inflammation.
