Dengue Treatment: Doctors Recommend These Fruits To Increase Blood Platelets

Dengue fever is an acute febrile illness that lasts from 2 to 7 days. It is also known as break bone fever since it can be painful for the infected person due to the joints and muscle pain.

The symptoms of dengue are usually the abrupt onset of very high fever and headache.

The disease is diagnosed through blood tests and the low platelet count seen during this fever is known as thrombocytopenia. Usually low platelet occurs in 65 percent of people with dengue fever.

Dengue virus mostly feeds on the fluid in the blood which then increases the hematocrit and tries to decrease the platelet count.

Pomegranate is rich in vitamin C. Fruits with vitamin C can help in combating infectious agents as well as boost immunity. It helps to increase the low platelet count.

Pomegranate and black grapes are said to have strong antioxidant content that can increase the platelet count. Even consuming one pomegranate as a fruit or juice is helpful to strengthen the immune system.

Consuming 300 ml juice after 2 hrs of lunch can increase the platelet level of a dengue patient. This will not only help the dengue patient to enhance blood count but can keep him in the pink of health.

Kiwi fruit is full of the nutrients vitamin C, vitamin K, vitamin E, folate and potassium. It even has a lot of antioxidants and a good amount of fibre. The vitamin C found in kiwi is an essential nutrient which can not only boost immunity but it can ward off any illness in no time.

Consuming one kiwi fruit or a juice can instantaneously increase platelet count. Fresh fruits contain a lot of micronutrients like vitamins and these vital nutrients are indispensable to improve the platelet count.
