Ways To Use Lemon Juice To Treat Kidney Stones

Lemon, a small yellow tangy flavoured fruit is one of the nature's best creations and gift to humans. Scientifically called Citrus limon, this evergreen plant is now found all around the world though it is native to Asia. All the credits of the popularity of lemon go to its juice which has both culinary and non-culinary properties, especially cleansing uses.

This tropical fruit is a wonderful combination of vitamin C, thiamin, riboflavin, pantothenic acid, iron and magnesium, and is an excellent source of fibre, vitamin B6, calcium, potassium and copper, as well as folate and potassium. The tangy flavour comes from acetic acid present in it.

While lemon comes with plenty of health benefits, we will particularly discuss its role in curing kidney disorders, especially kidney stones.

The kidney is a bean shaped organ found in the lower abdomen region of the human body and is involved in the filtration and removal of toxic and unwanted substances from the blood through urine. 

However, sometimes excess salt, minerals, and other discarded substances get accumulated in the kidney and form a solid mass called kidney stone.
