With a long holiday weekend approaching ahead, the tamil New Year, Good Friday, along with the Summer vacation beginning the State transport has decided to operate an additional 450 special buses to help public commute to other districts.
Coimbatore: Additional buses will be operated from coimbatore to other districts to help public, students commute to home towns with the festive holidays approaching the coming weekend.
As many as 220 buses are being operated daily from Coimbatore to other districts. With the government holiday for four consecutive days from April 14, additional buses will be operated for the general public, including labourers, college students and others staying in Coimbatore, to reach their native places. At present, holidays and summer seasons have begun and annual examinations are also being conducted in schools with holidays being released in a phased manner. As a result, the crowds at bus and railway stations are increasing.
The upcoming weekend in Tamil Nadu is a long holiday weekend with Tamil New Year on April 14, which will be a state holiday, 15th Good Friday and Ambedkar's birth anniversary celebrations will be held. This is followed by a two-day holiday on Saturday and Sunday. Similarly, on April 16, being chitra poornima, devotees used to visit Velliangiri and Isha, Mettupalayam Vana Bhadrakali Amman temples on that day.
