A temporary bus stand is being set up at the CODISSIA premises on behalf of the Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation, Coimbatore. Buses will operate from the temporary bus station from tomorrow Wednesday.
Coimbatore: For the festival of harvest, Pongal many from Coimbatore will visit their hometowns. To avoid crowding the State Transport Corporation has taken steps to run additional special buses to cater to the needs of the passengers.
Buses are available from Gandhipuram bus stand to Erode, Salem, Tirupur, Dharmapuri, Namakkal and other destinations. Similarly, busses will operate from Singanallur bus stand to Trichy, Madurai, Sivagangai, Rameswaram, Thiruchendur, Nellai, Rajapalayam, Kumuli, directed to Theni.
The Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation has announced that it will run an additional 200 special buses from Coimbatore to Trichy, Madurai, Theni, Salem and other places ahead of the Pongal festival. Buses will be operational from the temporary bus station from tomorrow, Wednesday.
The busses will operate with only 75 percent of passengers, as per the prescribed guidelines. Passengers on the bus will have to wear a face mask and following social distancing.
