Coimbatore: On account of Gandhi Jayanthi, the Tamil Nadu Government has banned the slaughter of goats, cows and chicken, as well as the sale of meat on October 2.
The Coimbatore Corporation has ordered all mutton, beef, poultry and pork stalls in the areas under the Corporation of Coimbatore to shut shop. On October 2, the Ukkadam Goat Slaughterhouse, Singanallur Goat Slaughterhouse, Podanur and Ganapathy Cattle Slaughterhouses which are being operated by the Coimbatore Corporation will be closed.
CCMC Commissioner and Special Officer, Raja Gopal Sunkara warned that violators of this order will be subject to disciplinary action by the Corporation authorities.
