Specialised and sophisticated technical control room system has been established at vote counting center.
Coimbatore: In Coimbatore district, a vote counting center for 10 assembly constituencies has been set up at the Government Engineering College, Thadagam Road.
The center was inspected by District Collector S Nagarajan and Commissioner of Police Davidson Devasirvadam. Orders have been issued to make security arrangements as per the guidelines of the Election Commission at the counting rooms.
Surveillance camera fitting works are done in full swing. A modern control room is also set up with cameras to monitor the entire campus.
The Central Security Forces and the Tamil Nadu Police are to be involved in the security operation in this control room and throughout the premises.
The District Collector has issued appropriate orders to the Corporation and the Public Works Department regarding the provision of drinking water and temporary toilet facilities.
District Revenue Officer Ramaduraimurugan, Counting Center Monitoring Officer Menaka, Public Works Engineer Ranganathan and Election Officers were also present at the inspection.
