18 areas have been isolated in Coimbatore: District Collector K. Rajamani

Coimbatore: District Collector K. Rajamani said, 18 areas in Coimbatore have been isolated. This comes in the backdrop of 14 zones being declared as zero-movement zones in the city few days back. The district administration has been taking a number of steps including filing cases against those who violate lockdown and loiter in public places, confiscating and spray painting vehicles.


Coimbatore: District Collector K. Rajamani said, 18 areas in Coimbatore have been isolated. This comes in the backdrop of 14 zones being declared as zero-movement zones in the city few days back. The district administration has been taking a number of steps including filing cases against those who violate lockdown and loiter in public places, confiscating and spray painting vehicles.

To ensure that the spread of the novel coronavirus is contained within the areas it has spread already, Many roads in the 18 areas have been isolated in Coimbatore. In the suburbs of Anaimalai, Pollachi South, Pollachi North, Kinathukadavu, Madukarai, Vadamadurai, Annur, Sirumugai, Mettupalayam, Sundarapuram, Kuniyamuthur, Ukkadam, Poo Market, RS Puram, KK Pudur, Cheran Ma Nagar and Pothanur areas have been isolated.

The District Collector also warned that the shops selling essential items at hiked prices will be sealed with immediate effect.
