Coimbatore: The Tamil Nadu government in a circular announced has announced that all movie theatres and malls in 16 districts in the State, which are closer to the borders of Kerala and Karnataka, will be shut down until the end of this month.

Malls and Movie theatres will be shut down until March 31 in districts Coimbatore, Tirupur, Nilgiris Theni, Kanyakumari, Krishnagiri, Tirunelveli, Tenkasi, Tiruvallur, Vellore, Tirupattur, Ranipet, Erode, Dindigul, Dharmapuri and Virudhunagar, the directive read.
The Chief Minister has also appealed to the people to avoid travelling to other States and also avoid participation in large gatherings.
The CM has urged that people should maintain utmost personal hygiene by washing their hands and seeking medical help, if they present with symptoms of Coronavirus.
Earlier, the CM had announced hoilday for all schools across the State from Pre KG to Class 5 until March 31, 2020.
